Happy Sunday! Thanks for checking out the online resources for this Sunday. Here you will find a video lesson as well as some activities to do as a family.
Elementary
Determination: deciding it's worth it to finish what you started.
Key Truth: God gives you what you need to keep going!
Memory Verse: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9)
1. Watch the video https://vimeo.com/showcase/7120423. Select Elementary or 4th-5th can watch the Preteen video.
2. Read the story from the Bible: Acts 3:1-4:21. Discuss these questions: 1. Why were Peter and John arrested? 2. Why was it hard for Peter and John to continue with their mission? 3. When was the last time you didn't finish what you started? What happened?
3. Lesson Activity: Practice determination by completing some or all of these 30-second challenges -- stand on one foot, no blinking, spin around, and stand like a statue.
4. Use this prayer as a guide: “God, we know that You can help us keep going when things get tough—just like You helped Peter and John. There are times when it’s tough for us to finish what we’ve started. There are times when we get tired or frustrated, or we’re confused about what to do next. Help us to remember that You are always with us! Help us to decide that it’s worth it to finish what we’ve started—and give us the strength to keep going. Amen!”
